Manual Therapy
Manual Therapy
The chiropractor utilizes various hands-on techniques, including soft tissue mobilization, stretching, and joint mobilization. These methods target specific areas of concern, alleviate muscle tension, improve flexibility, and enhance range of motion. Manual therapy technics that I may include:
- Scraping tools (instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization)
-which helps improve blood flow in the area, breaking up scar tissue which can help in promoting healing) ( ie tendinopathies )
- Pin and stretch techniques
-involves holding specific muscle groups in a stretched position while applying manual pressure to a specific area. This technique is effective in relieving muscle tightness, improving flexibility, and restoring normal muscle function.
- Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) Stretching Techniques
-PNF stretching techniques involve a combination of stretching and muscle contraction to improve flexibility and increase the range of motion. These techniques utilize the body’s proprioceptors to enhance muscle relaxation and improve muscle length.
